One of the highlights of the Costa Tropical is the Almijara Nature Reserve, located in the River Verde valley in the municipalities of Otivar and Lentejí. The river is set in extraordinary ravines, making it an ideal spot for canyoning fans. The Junta de los Ríos area is simply spectacular, with waterfalls and natural pools that are a family destination in the summer. Numerous trails provide access to the most interesting areas.

Cerro Gordo natural beauty spot is another extraordinary protected space known for its rich natural submarine life, in addition to the plant life and spectacular cliffs. It's home to astounding beaches, a sea bed and trails along the cliffs. Highlights include the beaches at Cantarriján, Calaiza and the Berengueles cove on the border of the natural beauty spot, as well as Torre de la Caleta and the trail to the Torre de Cerro Gordo. They all offer dives in this unique part of Spain, which is ideal for scuba diving.  Kayak excursions, stand up paddle boarding and cycling are fabulous experiences for the whole family.
