Role purpose:
The role is responsible for the operational management of the marina, ensuring the safe and efficient movement and mooring of yachts, as well as maintaining the highest standards of facilities plus service standards for yacht owners, captains, and guests.

Key accountabilities & Decision ownership
Harbor Operations
- Coordinating Docking and undocking boats
- Monitor and manage berth allocation to ensure max efficiency/occupancy
- Maintaining harbor log / keeping accurate records of boats in the marina
- Ensure the marina operates in compliance with maritime laws, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
- Lead the emergency plan in case of incidents (24hour alert in case of emergency)
Customer Service
- Act as a point of berthing for yacht owners, captains, and guests, addressing their needs and concerns efficiently.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive service and problem resolution.
- Manage client relationships to encourage repeat business and positive referrals.
Health, Safety and wellbeing
- Implement, and enforce safety protocols for both employees and marina users in collaboration with Group H&S Officer
- Lead emergency response planning and conduct regular safety drills and audits.
- Ensure that the team of dock handlers/sailors abide to H&S D Marin Golden Rules
Staff leadership and facility management
- Schedule and maintain employee shifts, assign responsibilities and monitor team performance
- Foster a positive work environment among the team of dock handlers
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure marina infrastructure and operational assets is are in excellent conditions. Oversee the maintenance scheduling and repair of marina facilities including docks and relevant equipment
Core Competencies, knowledge and experience
- Yachting/Boating skills (docking procedures, manoeuvring and handling lines)
- Awareness of environmental and safety standards in the maritime industry as well as maritime regulations and navigation
- Focus on Customer Satisfaction and experience in managing relationships

Must have professional / technical qualifications
- Boat driving licence
- Degree in Maritime Studies, marine engineering or related field
- Relevant maritime certifications
- First aid, CPR certificationHealth & Safety accreditation considered an asset
- Keen and practical understanding of Electrical & Mechanical systems and LAN Networks considered an asset
- Working permit in Malta
