PIRAEUS OPEN WATER 1896 – Historic Open-Water Swimming Event at D-Marin Zea

D-Marin Zea invites you to witness the PIRAEUS OPEN WATER 1896, an exclusive open-water swimming competition inspired by the legendary route of the First Modern Olympic Games.

Starting at Votsalakia Beach and concluding at Pier “K” of Marina Zea, this prestigious race will feature:

• Veterans Masters Open-Water Race – elite swimmers showcasing endurance and skill.

• 250m Junior Race – young athletes competing with passion and promise.

• Awards Ceremony at Alexandra Square, celebrating achievement and the Olympic spirit.

Organized by the Municipality of Piraeus under the auspices of the Hellenic Swimming Federation (KOE), the event revives a course first swum 129 years ago, combining Olympic heritage, sporting excellence, and the nautical charm of Piraeus.
