D-Marin partnered with the Emirates Diving Association to conduct a major underwater clean-up at D-Marin Marsa Al Arab Marina in celebration of UAE National Environment Day, reinforcing its commitment to ocean preservation, community wellbeing, and sustainable marina management.
The environmental initiative brought together a team of professional divers who carried out a seabed clean-up within the marina, successfully removing 807.6kg of underwater waste from the marine environment.
Collected debris consisted primarily of plastic waste, beverage containers, and construction-related materials, reflecting common pollutants found in coastal and marina ecosystems. The data gathered during the dive contributes to broader environmental monitoring efforts and helps guide future conservation initiatives.
This clean-up forms part of D-Marin’s wider Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programme, aligned with its long-term vision of creating sustainable marinas for present and future generations. Sustainability initiatives at the marina are also reflected in D-Marin Marsa Al Arab Marina earning the prestigious Blue Flag award, an internationally recognised certification that highlights excellence in environmental management, water quality, safety, and sustainable marina operations.
Through partnerships with organisations such as the Emirates Diving Association, whose Cleanup Arabia campaign has been active since 1995 under the United Nations Environment Programme’s Clean Up The World initiative, D-Marin continues to support the protection and restoration of the UAE’s marine ecosystems.

With further seabed clean-ups planned as part of its annual sustainability calendar, D-Marin Marsa Al Arab Marina will continue advancing conservation partnerships, environmental education, and responsible marina operations across Dubai’s coastline.
