D-Marin, the selection of premium marinas, has announced the acquisition of Porto San Rocco Marina Resort in Muggia, near Trieste, adding further scale to its presence in Italy and the Northern Adriatic. The addition marks D-Marin’s growth from one Italian marina in 2023 to nine today, with Italy now representing the Group’s largest regional portfolio.
Located in the Gulf of Trieste, close to the Slovenian and Croatian borders, Porto San Rocco occupies one of the most strategically significant positions in the Northern Adriatic. The marina serves as a gateway between Italy and the wider Adriatic cruising region, providing convenient access to the Italian, Slovenian and Croatian coastlines while complementing D-Marin's growing selection of premium marinas across the Mediterranean.
Oliver Dörschuck, CEO of D-Marin, commented: “Porto San Rocco sits at the gateway between Italy and the wider Adriatic, with the scale to welcome yachts up to 60 metres. It fits naturally with our marinas in Italy and Croatia. We look forward to building on the marina’s strong foundations together with its team and the local community, and bringing D-Marin’s customer-first approach and operational expertise to Muggia.”
Porto San Rocco offers 546 berths for yachts from 8 to 60 metres and combines full-service marina infrastructure with a waterfront resort environment. Its hospitality and leisure offering includes hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, beauty facilities, a fuel station and a conference hall. Combined with strong road, rail, air and sea connections, the marina provides an attractive base for owners, captains and crews exploring the Adriatic.
The addition further strengthens D-Marin’s selection of premium marinas in Italy, which now spans some of the country’s most important cruising destinations. In the Northern Adriatic, Porto San Rocco adds to D-Marin’s existing presence alongside Punta Faro, while complementing the Group’s marinas in Liguria, Tuscany and Sardinia. Together, these destinations create new opportunities for customers to cruise between Italy and neighbouring Adriatic destinations while enjoying the same high standards of service and connectivity across D-Marin destinations.
Guests at Porto San Rocco will benefit from D-Marin's expertise in marina operations, customer experience, digital innovation and sustainable infrastructure, reflecting the company's long-term commitment to investing in high-quality marina destinations and supporting local boating communities.
The completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals. D-Marin was advised by Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB Division) as financial advisor and by Latham & Watkins regarding legal and contractual matters.
